Celebrity chef Andy Bates has been announced as the head judge in Casual Dining Magazine’s National Burger Awards.
Bates is a champion of British food and family-style cooking, creating modern twists on classic dishes from the UK and around the world, inspired by his travels for his Food Network TV series, ‘Andy Bates Street Feasts’. Bates is also a regular contributor on the BBC Two series, Food & Drink.
The 16 finalists from casual dining restaurants up and down the country will compete on 25 February to win the crown of Britain’s best burger.
Another familiar face added to the judging panel is chef Lesley Waters, who is renowned for her appearances on Ready Steady Cook and This Morning, and will be joining the line up as Speciality Breads’ guest judge.
The Casual Dining Magazine team is looking forward to welcoming the ‘chosen buns’ to the Islington Metal Works on Wednesday 25 February, where the winner will be crowned that evening at a special awards ceremony.
More exciting details about the inaugural National Burger Awards will be released soon.
