Balans Soho Society reports record trading in 30th year

Balans Soho Society has reported an 18.3% like-for-like increase in sales for 2016, as it celebrates its 30th birthday this year.

As a result of the sales growth, EBITDA and refurbishment and opening costs rose by 43.7%, which included the launch of a site in Seven Dials.

Following the report, Balans announced that it will be opening its seventh restaurant in Clapham in March 2017. This will be its first site south of the River Thames, taking the former Honky Tonk premises at 16A Clapham Common South Side.

“During a period when trading conditions for restaurants everywhere can be said to be somewhat challenging, I’m really delighted that the reinvigorated Balans Soho Society is bucking the trend and proving to be increasingly popular,” says owner David Taylor. “We’re anticipating maintaining momentum moving into 2017 as we continue to open new sites.”
